BIG FIX Uganda is a project of The BIG FIX, a non-governmental organization registered in the United States of America, and tax-exempt under IRC 501(c)(3). The BIG FIX is a public benefit nonprofit corporation registered in the State of California and registered with the California Attorney General's Registry of Charitable Trusts. The BIG FIX Uganda is also registered in Uganda as an International NGO, meaning that it is controlled by The BIG FIX, an NGO outside of Uganda.

The BIG FIX is committed to ensuring the privacy of all our users. This policy represents our commitment as an organization to your right of privacy, giving you a clear explanation about how we use your information and your rights over that information.

What types of information do we collect and how?

The type and amount of information we receive depends on how you use our website. You can access most of the pages on our website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. Our web server uses cookies and collects anonymous logs during user visits to our websites which provide valuable information for improving them. For more information, see Use of Cookies, below.

In some circumstances, your information may be shared with us by third parties, but only where you have specifically consented. For example, if you make a donation to BIG FIX via PayPal, PayPal will share your name and e-mail address with us and, if you have provided it, your postal address.

We collect your name and e-mail address when you contact us to make an inquiry, when you make a donation to us, when you apply as a volunteer, or when you sign up to receive our updates. 

How do we use the information we collect?

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • to update you on our program activities;

  • to communicate with members concerning elections and voting; 

  • to ask you to donate or get involved with our programs by volunteering; 

  • to process donations that we receive from you;

  • to improve our website;

  • to fulfil any legal obligation.

We do NOT sell, rent, or swap your personal information to other organizations for them to use in their own marketing campaigns.
